Summer 2014, open day

On a warm summers day in July we opened our doors to a very well attended open day for customers and suppliers old and new from around the world.

At our factory site we had a static display of current model trenchers and auxiliary equipment along with Trimble, Conver and Herder products.

A guided factory tour gave visitors the opportunity to see behind the scenes in our design department and production plant.

A large marquee next to the factory was the home, not only for the free bar and hog roast, but also a place for visitors to meet representatives from Mastenbroek, Conver, Herder and Trimble, along with the opportunity to catch up with old friends from within the industry.

An hourly bus service ferried the visitors to our 2 demonstration sites.

The first stop had the very latest Mastenbroek 30/20 drainage trencher using Trimble GPS which not only provides depth and grade control but also machine autosteer. Following the trencher was a Mastenbroek CT12 crawler for the accurate placement of backfill into the trench.

At the same demonstration site was the Mastenbroek P-15. A high power drain jetter used extensively to keep drainage system clear of blockages.

Back on the bus to the second site on the bank of the “Hammond Beck” local drain was the latest addition to the Herder range a dual cut front and rear mounted flail mower system for a single pass wide cut.

In the water a Conver weed boat fitted with front T-cutter unit for cutting river bed vegetation. This particular boat was fitted with a GPS tracking system which accurately plotted the boats passes onto a screen allowing the operator a visual record of movements.

We hope our open day has given an insight to our visitors that Mastenbroek does not just supply British built quality machinery for the trenching market but we can also supply the “complete package” for field drainage and the maintenance of the dykes and waterways.
