MASTENBROEK TO LAUNCH ITS NEXT GENERATION MACHINE CONTROL SYSTEM AT CEREALS 2026

Farmers and contractors looking to add the latest laser grade control system to ensure accurate and effortless operation of their drainage trencher or scraper should head to Mastenbroek’s stand at Cereals 2026.

The renowned drainage trencher manufacturer is set to launch the latest version of its Machine Control System at Diddly Squat Farm in June.

Mastenbroek launched the MCS1, which works with a rigid laser receiver mast, at Cereals 2025 to give owners of tractor-mounted drainage trenchers a low-cost route into automated machine control. Sales of MCS1 have exceeded Mastenbroek’s expectations, with multiple contractors across the UK now using the system.

The next stage of development for Mastenbroek’s MCS suite of automated control systems, designed specifically for operators looking to add accurate, easy-to-operate control of vertical operations to scrapers and drainage machines, is the MCS1-EM (electric mast).

MCS1-EM pairs the machine control system with a rubber-shock-mounted electric elevating mast, allowing the operator to control the machine gauge height and receiver elevation. As with MCS1, the new product is designed to be paired with a Spectra Precision transmitter and can be easily retrofitted to all makes of self-propelled drainage trenchers, tractor-mounted trenchers and scrapers to provide automatic receiver elevation for longer drainage runs and undulating fields.

“The last 12 months have been very satisfying indeed, and we’re pleased with the response our Machine Control System has received from farmers and contractors across the UK,” says Fred Clarke, Technical Director at Mastenbroek. “We have a vision of how we want the MCS product range to grow and develop as we look to offer the best combination of affordability, retrofitting, features and ease of use to people looking to improve the performance of their scrapers and drainage trenchers. The MCS1-EM is the next step in the process, and we hope that it receives the same response from Cereals visitors as the MCS1 did.

“Feedback from operators using MCS1 over the last year has been incredibly positive, with people saying the system is simple to use, has a very clear, anti-glare display screen and delivers reliable on-grade consistency thanks to the easy-to-read on-screen out-of-range warning. People also like the fact that MCS is easy to install, and its valve outputs can be configured for PT, PWM, and Danfoss solutions.

“We are looking forward to welcoming people to stand 511 in the NAAC Drainage Hub and telling them more about MCS and its capabilities.”
