The subsea trenching head is designed to be attached to a large excavator arm which is mounted on a pontoon. Primarily designed to install sewage outfalls in water up to excavator reach limits. The trenching head is powered by its own power pack which is self contained and also includes a hydraulically driven reel for retrieval of the umbilical when the trenching head is not in use.

The trenching head is hydraulically locked into a pipebox that is supported by skids which run along the sea bed to keep the trenching head at a constant depth.
